Hi! I’m Janet Hickox
A Magical Beginning
I was 19 years old, wandering through a cozy bookstore in Orange, California, when a pair of books seemed to call out to me. They were Numerology: The Complete Guide, Volumes I & II, by Matthew Goodwin. At the time, I was making barely enough to cover the basics—and these books were $20 each—but something deep within said, Buy them.
Later that day, I curled up with Volume I and fell headlong into a world of numbers, energy, and insight. I couldn’t stop reading. I was enchanted. Before long, I was practicing numerology on friends and family, amazed at how much could be revealed just from a birth date and a name.
But that was just the beginning. What came next cracked open the door to something even more extraordinary…
Remembering the Stars
My path to astrology wasn’t conventional. I didn’t earn a certificate or log years of formal study first. What happened instead… felt like remembering.
It all began about 20 years later, when my 9-year-old son brought home a book he’d found in a neighbor’s box of garage sale leftovers. “You like rocks and crystals,” he said, handing it to me. The cover showed shimmering crystals, and the title read: Chiron: Rainbow Bridge Between the Inner and Outer Planets by Barbara Hand Clow. I thanked him and tucked the book on my shelf, intending to read it someday.
But that book had other plans.
The next day, it was on the floor. The day after, on my nightstand. No one in the house admitted to moving it—not my kids, not my husband. Then, that same evening, I found it lying open on my bed.
Okay, Universe. Message received.
I sat down and began to read. Within pages, I was captivated by the story of Chiron—a relatively recent discovery in the astrological world, yet pulsing with deep significance. And something wild happened: as I continued to read about Chiron and began exploring astrology, I realized… I wasn’t learning. I was remembering.
Planetary meanings. Chart structures. House systems. It was as though a dusty library within me had flung its doors wide open. I started doing charts for friends and family, and they were stunned by what I could see. So was I.
I hadn’t studied astrology before—but somehow, I knew it.
Over time, I came to understand that this wasn’t a new skill, but an ancient one returning to me. I had been an astrologer before—perhaps in many lifetimes. That book, that moment, was a reawakening. A sacred initiation.
And from that day forward, I’ve been using what I remembered—offering guidance, insight, and cosmic perspective through astrology, Human Design, and beyond.
An Invitation
If you’ve ever had a moment like this—where something mystical found you, where remembering felt deeper than learning—I encourage you to share it. These are the breadcrumbs of magic, the signs that remind us – there is more to this life than meets the eye.
And sometimes, all it takes is one book, one moment, one yes—to change your whole path.
