The Moment My Gifts Woke Up
A glimpse into a future lifetime — and the activation of a calling
The weekend that revealed my past, healed my fear, and activated my gifts.

Back then in 1984, I was just going to work like everyone else — selling furniture, meeting quotas, living a perfectly normal life. And then Michelle arrived.
Michelle wasn’t just a new boss.
She was a metaphysical meteor.
One day she’s talking sales reports, the next she’s casually opening portals into higher consciousness. Astrology, numerology, psychic surgery, reincarnation, spirit guides — suddenly our team meetings felt like spiritual TED Talks mixed with The Twilight Zone. And we were obsessed.
Sedona Beckons
Then Michelle mentioned Past Life Regression — specifically a workshop in Sedona with a man named Dick Sutphen.
Sedona.
The land of red rocks and mystery.
The place where the veil seems thinner… and the cookies probably taste better too. 🍪✨
Three of us looked at each other with that spark in our eyes — the one that says:
“If we don’t go, we’ll regret it forever.”
So we packed our bags, our curiosity, and our wide-open minds… and headed straight for the desert.
I thought I was going on a little metaphysical girls’ trip.
But Sedona had other plans.
What happened next blew open doors inside me that I didn’t even know existed — psychic abilities I’d never tapped, memories from lifetimes I’d never considered… and a realization that the world is far bigger, stranger, and more magical than I had ever imagined.
The Workshop Begins
You know how some spiritual journeys start with meditation, or sage cleansing, or a gentle nudge from the universe?
Yeah.
Mine started with a snowstorm.
This California girl — accustomed to sunshine and palm trees — suddenly found herself driving through snow in the deserts of Arizona. Snow! In Arizona! Who approved that weather plan?
By the time we made it from Kingman to Flagstaff, the flakes were coming down hard, and the real adventure began: a steep descent into Sedona filled with hairpin turns and switchbacks. My knuckles were white on the steering wheel. Meanwhile, the universe decided it was a great time to serve me up a flashback to a childhood trip to Big Bear:
The family car skidding…
the tires sliding toward a cliff…
everyone bailing out — except me.
I wasn’t allowed to leave the car. I sat there frozen, staring at the edge, terrified.
So here I was again…
in a snowstorm…
on a cliffside road…
responsible for two other women…
And all I could think was:
“What in the world have I signed up for?”
But my curiosity was louder than my fear.
And Sedona — magical, mysterious Sedona — was calling.
The First Hypnosis Session
We arrived safely (angels were definitely co-piloting), and that night kicked off the workshop with something called an opening hypnosis.
Dick Sutphen told us to partner up with someone we didn’t know.
“Easy,” I thought.
“I don’t know anybody!”
Then he guided us into a trance-like state to see something about this stranger — something true — and bring that vision back with us.
And suddenly, I was there:
A quiet highway.
Flat land stretching forever.
A man and a woman are standing outside their car.
Not panicked — just staring…
at a massive tornado swirling in the distance.
I had no frame of reference for tornadoes. I didn’t grow up with Wizard of Oz weather. So I thought:
“Well, this is weird…”
When the hypnosis ended, we shared what we saw.
I told the man next to me about the tornado, the couple, and the road trip.
He blinked… and said:
“My sister and brother-in-law are traveling through Kansas and stopped on the side of the road to watch a tornado last night.”
My jaw.
The floor.
Both made contact. 😳
That was the first time I realized:
Oh…
This isn’t pretend.
This isn’t imagination.
This is real.
And that was just the first night.
Sedona clearly wasn’t messing around. 😄
Tomorrow, I’ll share what happened during our first past-life regression — and how it explained a fear I’d carried my entire life.
If you’re someone who’s wondered about past lives (or you’re just along for the cosmic cookies 🍪), stay tuned for Part 2 — arriving tomorrow.
Cookie break. 🍪😉 Leave a comment if you have had experiences you’d like to share!
