(from the series “My Mystical, Magical Life”)

The house was quiet, wrapped in the kind of stillness that only comes when everyone’s asleep. The air felt heavy, yet peaceful — the hum of night surrounding me. I remember lying in bed, my little body tucked under the covers, when I felt it…
A gentle hand brushed across my forehead.
It was slow, loving — the kind of touch that says, You’re safe, sweetheart. Go back to sleep.
Warmth filled me from head to toe. I didn’t open my eyes. I didn’t need to. That soft, unseen gesture carried a feeling of such deep love that I knew, without question, it wasn’t anything to fear.
And yet, when I finally did open my eyes, there was no one there.
No shadow, no movement, no sound — just the moonlight spilling through the curtains. But I could still feel that presence. I can still feel it now.
💫 A Mother’s Love Beyond the Veil
Looking back, I believe that moment was my mother reaching out from wherever she was to comfort me.
When I was just two years old, my mom had suffered a stroke that changed everything. She was hospitalized for a long time, and by age three, my older sister had to place my younger sister and me into foster care. It was confusing and heartbreaking, even if I didn’t have the words for it then.
My foster parents were kind and loving, and they made sure we visited our “real” mother every week. But even with those visits, something inside me always ached. There’s a bond between mother and child that can’t be broken by distance, circumstance, or even the thin veil between worlds.
And that night, I believe she crossed that veil to let me know I was loved.
✨ The Beginning of Knowing
That experience became one of my earliest memories — the first time I knew that Spirit could reach into the physical world.
I didn’t understand it then, but it planted the seed for everything that would come later: my faith, my curiosity about the unseen, my lifelong conversation with the Divine.
It wasn’t just a mysterious touch in the dark — it was my initiation into trust.
The Universe was showing me, even as a child, that love never dies.
When I look back now, I see that night as the first chapter of my mystical life — the very beginning of remembering that Spirit is always near.
